“TFP” stands for “Time for Print” or “Time for Photos.” It’s a term commonly used in the photography industry, especially in modeling and photography collaborations. In a TFP arrangement, the photographer and the model collaborate on a photoshoot without exchanging money. Instead, each participant contributes their time and skills in exchange for prints or digital copies of the photos for their portfolios or personal use.
The photographer and the model agree to work together to create a mutually beneficial portfolio or expand their respective portfolios. The model gets professional-quality images without paying for the photographer’s services, and the photographer gets to experiment with new techniques, styles, or concepts while building their portfolio.
TFP shoots can be beneficial for both parties involved, especially for those looking to gain experience, expand their portfolios, or network within the industry without incurring monetary costs. It’s important to establish clear terms and expectations beforehand, including the number of final images provided, usage rights, and any editing or retouching details.
